ABOUT ADDICTION
No one plans on becoming dependent on drugs or alcohol but the fact is that many do. And as this dependency increases, values that a person learns during their youth take a back seat to the drive to support their addiction. The result is a pattern of behavior that society deems unacceptable and so the person is locked away, effectively eliminating the problem. Seems pretty simple, but we forgot one thing. There is a real person involved here. A person who at some point shared hopes and dreams for the future with all of us but took a wrong turn along the way. Simply turning our back on this problemed individual amounts to a life sentence, whether it be a string of jail sentences or simply the devastating grip of the addiction itself and while our world seems to be full of incurable problems these days, addiction is not one of them.
Addicts cannot stop using drugs for two reasons:drug
Mental and physical cravings caused by drug residues which remain in the body.
The Biochemical Personality caused by drugs and the life-style the person adopts to get them.
Left unhandled, these manifestations will haunt a person for years even if they have sobered up. Left untreated, they will trigger a relapse. These unresolved symptoms, whether physical or mental in origin, create an underlying low-level type of stress which cannot be completely ignored by the addict. The addict can "Just say no" a thousand times, but it only takes saying "yes" one time to start the cycle of addiction again.
The Narconon® methodology has been used successfully by hundreds of thousands of persons around the world to rid themselves of the need for drugs and regain control of their lives.
