Program Description

The Narconon® program deals with both the physical and mental problems brought about by drug use. We restore the addict, both mentally and physically, to the person he was before he began using drugs or alcohol. The end result is a 70 to 80 percent success rate.

While drugs and their metabolites quickly become undetectable in blood and urine, some as rapidly as 3 days after last usage, drug metabolites remain stored in fatty tissues for years. The discovery of these accumulated drug residues which continue to cause drug cravings, led to development of the New Life Sauna Program. This program utilizes a combination of exercise, sweating in a low heat sauna and nutritional supplements to produce the following results:

Reduction or elimination of drug and alcohol cravings.

Reduction or elimination of many symptoms associated with drug addiction and alcoholism. These can include depression, irritability, and fatigue.

Ability to think more clearly.

Improved memory and attention span.

Increased energy.

Increased sense of well being.

Enthusiasm toward life.

PHASE ONE

Drug Free Withdrawal assists the individual to cease current drug use rapidly and with minimal discomfort through proper nutrition, vitamins and assistance from trained and experienced Narconon staff.

The Therapeutic Training Routine Section extroverts the student and gets him into better communication with others and the environment.

The Narconon New Life Sauna Program is an exact regimen of exercise, sauna and nutritional supplements that rid the fatty tissues in the body of drug residues and other accumulated toxins.

The Learning Improvement Section gives the student the ability to study and retain knowledge by recognizing and overcoming the barriers to study and learning.

The Communication and Perception Section increases awareness and increases the individual's control and communication with the world. The student also learns to help another student on this course. By taking responsibility, one gains the ability to handle life and help others.

The Personal Values & Integrity Section gives the knowledge necessary to determine ones own values and achieve high personal integrity and honesty. It show how to correct non-survival actions by ridding himself of past harmful deeds.

The Changing Conditions in Life Section teaches exact steps that improve conditions in life and repair previous bad conditions, giving the student tools for success in life.

The Narconon Way to Happiness Course teaches the student a secular moral code as a guide to living a happy life.

The Narconon Program deals with all aspects of addiction. We restore the addict both mentally and physically. A graduate of the Narconon program has recovered and will continue to stay clean and do well in life if he uses the tools he has learned and practiced while on the Narconon program.

The first Narconon was started in 1966 inside Arizona State Prison by an inmate and former heroin addict named William Benitez. Mr. Benitez had been addicted to hard narcotics since the age of 15. He decided to start Narconon after utilizing techniques from a self-help book titled Fundamentals of Thought by L.Ron Hubbard. The focus of the Narconon program both then and now was on overcoming addiction by increasing abilities.

THE PREMISE OF THE NARCONON MODEL IS THAT THE FORMER ADDICT CAN ACHIEVE A NEW LIFE.
